(As I have said when I first posted this)
No, this isn’t some movie title or some suspense flick. This isn’t some fairy tale fictional story to convict men. No, this is an event that occured 2 months ago. October 27 was the date. It was a saturday. Just days before my board exam.
Around 10 in the evening we got a phone call from my cousin in Cainta. My dad picked up the phone and gave the handset to my mom. It was an ordinary saturday night. We never saw it coming. We cannot even believe it. I can’t believe it until now. My cousin in Candelaria, Quezon, one of my cousins that were as close to me as a sister could be cannot be found. 10 in the evening and she cannot be found.
Where is she?
My mom was already going hysterical at this point. Frantic about the situation, we asked and asked what happened.
She repeatedly said “Diyos ko! Diyos ko! Nawawala si Sua!”(My God! My God! Sua cannot be found!).
WHY, WHAT HAPPENED, we asked.
“Nasunog yung bahay nila! Naiwan si Sua sa loob!”(Their house was caught on fire! Sua was left inside!)
The whole house… everyone stood silent, in shock, in disbelief. I began texting my cousins back in Candelaria to get an update of the situation, to find out what really happened. An hour after was the greatest shock of my life, (next to when my older brother got stabbed years ago) she was found Dead. Burnt to a crisp. My cousin, my sister laying dead as ashes with the house burnt to the ground.
Why?! Why her?! How can something like this happen to us of all people?! Why? She was 12 years of age! 12! She had a whole life ahead of her?! Why?!
Why? Why you ask?
Let me tell you first what really happened after the investigation.
Days after the investigation was concluded…
She didn’t die in a fire. She wasn’t trapped and caught off guard by a blazing fire.
No. She was murdered, stabbed, skull broken, left to die in a blazing fire.
There’s my cousin. Gone. Dead.
But what do we make of all this? What? Yes I know about eternity. Yes I believe that she’s at the bosom of the Father now. I’m not really sure with the condition of her soul. I choose to believe that she’s with God now… still… wherever she is may God have Glory. In salvation may God glory, and in His justice may He glory. But what do we make of all this things? As I have said to those whom I’ve asked to stand with us in prayer at that very night:
“May this be a reminder to us… Think to yourselves… (As Leonard Ravenhill would say) Is what you are living for worth Christ Dying for?“
Life can be taken away in an instant. I won’t and will never question the Will of God. He chose to end my cousins life then and there, may He have Glory over it. But let me ask you this, what are you living for right now? Are you living for this world or are you living for God? Is it evident in your life? What do you think about the most? When God finally takes back the breath of life that is in you what would be the last thought in your mind? I cannot understand why our generation is like this… Why… We go day in and day out thinking of so many things. We care for our families. We care about our jobs. We care about our ministries. We care about school, about our studies, about our future. Ye as we go about all these things PEOPLE ARE DYING! AND THE MAJORITY OF THEM ARE GOING TO HELL!
Have you ever thought about that? As you go about your everyday life as a person have you ever thought of that?
Knowing our humanistic nature in our generation today, of course you have. Of course we care about those who suffer. Never mind how seldom or how often we think about it. Well… that’s just it, we THINK about it. How seldom we do it is what’s scares me. Oh may God stamp eternity of our eyeballs. Eternity, a word that our generation doesn’t really care about. Not even mental ascension. Not even worth an hour of intellectual pondering. We think were so spiritual, but in a whole day our mind if filled with more of the world and so few of God. Oh how few are the times that we zealously seek the Lord. We profess to be Sons and daughters of God to those around us? No, majority of the time we blaspheme God amongst the nations.
Some of us take heed to God’s call to serve and minister… But then, even in service, in witnessing… what do we do? We give Glory to God? Do we? Well, unfortunately today, we blaspheme God and send people straight to Hell, that’s what we do in our service.
Why?! How can I say such a thing?!
Then listen well…
Just for the fact that the very thing that caused my cousin to DIE is so much taken lightly by you people who profess to be Christians! WHAT IS IT?! WHAT IS IT?! IT’S SIN! You think sin is such a little thing that just makes people miserable and forever feel incomplete? How naive are you who know so little of scripture, the scripture you hate so much you who have an idolatrous understanding of who God is. Sin kills people! Is that it then? That statement doesn’t feel that powerful does it? YE IT IS SIN THAT CAUSES MEN AND WOMEN TO BE DAMNED INTO AN ETERNITY OF INFINITE SUFFERING IN HELL BY THE WRATH AND JUSTICE OF AN ALMIGHTY GOD! How dare we speak of such a thing as if it was some problem that all we can say in the preaching of the Gospel is that because of sin we cannot draw near to God… because of sin we are “Separated from Him”… that He cannot help us because of sin… that God want’s to save us but because of sin He can’t… How much more lies shall we preach to this dying world? How much extrabiblical heresy shall we hold true?
>
We Christians go about preaching the Gospel… majority in my own congregation using the One2One booklet as a guide… all of which is a sin in itself… we think that those we preach the Gospel to are saved? I believe otherwise…
Salvation is a work of God whereby men are brought into repentance to be saved…
How then can a man repent without the reality of the horror of sin? ..without the reality of the depravity of man?
Many a people can sit in pews, entertained by sermons without being converted and saved.
A betrayal of men. A betrayal of God. The “gospel” you preach is a betrayal in itself that damn unconverted church members everyday to hell.
Hell fire? I am not talking about Hellfire… If you read and STUDY scripture you should know what this is… TRUTH.
I will go no further with this, I hope and pray that you would begin to ask yourselves some questions, to search and see in seriousness the reality of Christianity. To live for the Lord Jesus Christ. To be a prisoner in bonds to our Savior.
“The question isn’t are you challenged,
the question is ARE YOU CHANGED.”
- Leonard Ravenhill
‘Coz I don’t really care if you were touched or whatever by this story/post. I know this post is very very much unbalanced, but my point is this, if any change or reformation is not evident in your life then you have got nothing here. Nothing.
May God forever Glory.
