Don’t Say Serving is Loving if No Gospel is Preached

A silent servant-hood that never speaks the Gospel contradicts love.

There’s a lot of that in the world today.

Silent serving as though that were love leaving people without the articulation of the Gospel which is the power of God unto their salvation—It’s not love.

It looks loving. The world certainly wants us to do it that way. But that’s not the Biblical way. It’s not God’s way. It’s not Christ’s way.

We have mouths! And mouths are to be filled with truth! It is the truth that sets people free! It isn’t being treated nicely alone. Nobody gets saved by being treated nicely. They get saved by hearing the Gospel! Faith comes hearing and hearing by the word of Christ!

If we don’t open our mouths and commend Christ were not loving them, no matter what we are doing with our hands.

I would like to add that if the Gospel that you know of is nothing but a mere “Jesus loves you, so accept Him as your Lord and Savior”, that in itself is unloving as well.

The Biblical presentation of the Gospel is the preaching of the Word of God to expose sin and the monstrosity of our natures. From there we shed forth the love of Christ in the Gospel of His sovereign grace as an ebenezer of hope to the lost and spiritually dead. And we call forth to them, “Repent from your sins, from the monster of iniquity that you are, from your rebellion against the thrice Holy God! And believe, coming to Him with an empty hand of faith that in His Son the Lord Christ Jesus, the only perfect Savior, He can save such as you are!”
