In a strange and wonderful irony, the greatest problem on Earth is resolved by the greatest reality in Heaven.
Sin—it is the poisonous nature of humanity. The depth and breadth of sin is evident everywhere in our world. It is the fundamental principle in every person and the driving momentum of every society. From our first parents in Eden to infants drawing their first breath this day, every human is infected with sin’s rebellion against God and His Word. As the Christmas carol languishes, “long lay the world in sin and error pining.”
“But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us” (Romans 5:8). This is the reality from Heaven that resolves sin. The gospel of Jesus Christ is God’s amazing and solitary resolution for sin and sinners. The death of Jesus stands forever as God’s most glorious act. And it was for the purpose of defeating sin.
Resolved 2009 will focus on sin. What is sin? How bad is it? Where did it come from? How can I be saved from it and its consequences? Is it possible to stop? Our 5th Resolved Conference will explore these questions and provide biblical answers.
John Owen wrote, “Be killing sin, or it will be killing you.” Join us at Resolved ’09 as we rally to understand and battle sin.
The Resolved Conference was held last June 12-15, 2009
at the Palm Springs Convention Center
www.Resolved.org
When was the last time you heard of a conference dedicated to sin and how to overcome it? When was the last time you heard of a conference dedicated to holiness and purity?
Strive for peace with everyone, and for the holiness without which no one will see the Lord. —Hebrews 12:14
Who shall ascend the hill of the LORD? And who shall stand in his holy place? He who has clean hands and a pure heart, who does not lift up his soul to what is false and does not swear deceitfully. —Psalm 24:3-4
Surely holiness should be one of the prime things taught in Christendom today, should it not? Why then is it spoken of so little today. The Bible puts such a prime on the issue yet it is treated as some subgroup of a side-area of Christian discipline. Is this how callous our generation has become? The sinfulness of sin has been cheapened along with grace. It’s not a surprise then why sin is not treated as sin anymore, but instead as a “problem.”
Sin is not treated as an offense against God, but treated as a mistake, a mere stumbling in the road of faith.
Sin is not treated as practical atheism, it’s treated as physiological and psychological problems.
Sin is not treated as open rebellion against the Lord of glory, it’s treated as “wounding the heart of God, and making Him sad.”
I thank God for this conference. Let us incline our hearts and ears to the exposition of the words of wisdom from the Word of God in this conference and by the grace of God we may be awakened to the evil and deceitfulness of sin that our souls may be conformed in greater measure in the holiness of the image of our Lord Christ Jesus.

They tell another side.
Hope this helps.
Though the sites you shared are against C.J. Mahaney and his ministry. I find that some of the testimonials are valid. Which is why I approved your comment. It is a healthy thing to see what the other side says.
I say that some of which that I have read are valid 'coz I think that the situations presented are handled poorly. It just goes to show how destructive it is when souls are dealt with flippantly, directly or indirectly.
We should be wary of men's souls, and love them more. In church discipline, yes we should be uncompromising, but our love should be ever present and pleading and understanding. We should still be patient with people.
In sharing the truth of God's Word and the precious doctrines that were redeemed in the Reformation… these shouldn't be dealt to people carelessly. But they should be nurtured and dug deep into their souls. For these truths are the very foundation of faith, if planted poorly (God forbid), it'll only deem injurious to the professor. But if planted rightly, it'll be their all surpassing joy seeing the beauty of Christ as their all-sustaining treasure in times of trouble and of peace.
Thank you for the links.

I appreciate your approving my comment.
It is sad to read the cases being reported on these blogs. It is even sadder when you hear that a number of them have tried to deal with SGM on some of these cases and have gotten no where with SGM.
Lets hope that where necessary people be open to God's correction and reconciliation.
You talk about the reformation. Realize that the church polity within SGM doesn't have the typical elders that exist in most other churches. The local pastors are not accountable to anyone locally. There may be some accountability to a regional leader but no local accountability or check/balance as some say.
I find their type of polity perplexing when SGM is so big on the Puritan doctrines such as indwelling sin etc. If men are as sinflul as the like to say why do they have a form of polity that doesn't take that into account.
I also question as one goes up the “ladder” how much accountability there is vs. being independent.
It will be interesting to see what other comments show up here.
