The Fatally Incomplete Gospel of Many Ministers
This quote taken from A.W. Pink's solemn work entitled "Studies on Saving Faith" is one so fitting in what passes as Christianity in this post modern age. I expect some of you to judge the words written here to be so strong and unfair, but I pray you consider not if what is said is a statement of extremes, rather, consider well and ponder in yourself if what is said is true. Aye, we have more ...

John Piper to Respond on Rick Warren being on DG 2010
Read my Comments on Dr. Piper addressing his decision of choosing Rick Warren: HT Latest News : HT I'm sure most of the reformed folk out there (the ones not living under rocks or in caves), have caught drift of one of the most startling issues for the year of 2010, "John Piper inviting Rick Warren of Saddleback church to keynote at the Desiring God National Conference of 2010". Yep. First news seemed to come from: SharperIron SharperIron has confirmed ...

Essence of Sin: “Not Thinking You’re Good Enough.”
I realize that this is around 3 times a longer post than usual, but please bear with the length as I believe that this will be most helpful especially in this day and age where Christian belief systems are get more vague by the moment, where issues concerning truth and error are not given as much importance anymore because "All that matters is that they love Jesus, we love Jesus, and we're fine." I find ...

Ye Are The Salt!—Not Sugar Candy!
An evil is in the professed camp of the Lord, so gross in its impudence, that the most shortsighted can hardly fail to notice it during the past few years. It has developed at an abnormal rate, even for evil. It has worked like leaven until the whole lump ferments. The devil has seldom done a cleverer thing than hinting to the church that part of their mission is to provide entertainment for the people, ...

The Assumed Gospel
The greatest threat to Christ-centered witness even in churches that formally affirm sound teaching is what British evangelical David Gibson calls “the assumed gospel.” The idea is that that gospel is necessary for getting saved, but after we sign on, the rest of the Christian life is all the fine print: conditional forgiveness. It often comes in the form of, “Well, of course, but….” After a month of Sundays with exhortation apart from Good News, one ...

What Will You Tell Me If I Had a Brain Tumor?
Just a while ago, as I was browsing around my Facebook page, I saw Susan Yesner and Doug Eaton post the same video from YouTube. A video with the title: "Shocking Message to Pastors & Churches." I watched it and re-posted it as soon as I was done. In an understatement I would say that it is not only shocking but very, very much sobering as well. Below are my comments on the video, and my ...

Declaring War on the “Sinner’s Prayer”
I'm sick and tired of this "Sinner's Prayer." Just because it's most convenient to use it...because most preachers fail to understand how painstaking salvation and genuine conversion really is, they relegate the Gospel call into "CHOOSING/DECIDING GOD." Blasphemy. Should we not go to strenuous efforts for the salvation of men souls? Why deceive them that they have (instant) assurance of salvation? No warnings? No telling them of reality that if there is no change of heart, change of mind, ...

Sean Penn, Homosexuality and Same-Sex Marriage.
Recently at the Academy Awards, Sean Penn was Awarded as the best actor in his performance in the movie Milk. The movie Milk, for those of you not familiar, is an adaptation of Harvey Milk's life. In essence it was one of the pivotal events that led to the "open acceptance" of homosexuality in the United States of America. httpv://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hhJOT7CHO94 I wonder how the majority of the Christian world would respond to the statements made by Mr. ...

“You Don’t Have to Get Offensive.”
Paul seemed surprised at the sudden spotlight. “Well, that’s a very large and complex subject.....” “Surely it is, but did you inform these dear folks of that when you used that verse (2 Thess 2:15) to get them to begin to question the sufficiency of God’s holy Word?” There was a deathly silence. “I didn’t feel it necessary to go into such detail, no.” “Even when you knew admitting the confusion that exists in Rome about the topic ...
