The Sovereignty of God? What does it mean for God to be Sovereign? It means that God, the Creator and Master of the universe has all power over all His creation. Though in the simplicity of the Doctrine of God’s sovereignty there is still so much confusion from the truth of this fact. There has come about so much connotation and devaluation of the “Godness” of God. To no surprise at all, as much as the totality of what Scripture says is, that this message of the Sovereignty of God is an unbelievable offense. It is a stumbling block to men, and utter disgrace to the so called “truth” of this age.
What does it mean for God to be Sovereign? Why wouldn’t men and women such as ourselves accept such a doctrine and resort to falsehoods of the detachment of God? The offense of this doctrine goes to the roots of our nature. The Pride of Life and the depravity of men. We would not and could not accept such a God that is actually all Sovereign. Our flesh is against such a thing! That goes against the very will of man! Doesn’t man have a right to decide the things of his life for himself? Isn’t he made in the image of God as to choose the realities of his own world? Isn’t he the crowned jewel of God’s creation? Doesn’t he deserve freedom from the puppetry of Deity?
And from our pride we move on to the so called “lunacy” of such a doctrine. To believe such a thing is to believe that God preordains suffering! To believe such teaching is to believe that God is merely a puppet master! To believe such a thing is to say that life has no meaning! To believe such a thing is to believe that God is such a hateful God, ordaining men in repeated suffering and death! “Oh, how can we ever believe in a God like that!”
But yes, God is indeed Sovereign! Is God so powerless as to have no control over the work of His own hands? Has God succumbed into apathy and indifference as to detach Himself from the activities of His own universe?
Oh, if God was not Sovereign, what then would have happened to my soul! Why would I want a god who is sensitive to the depraved wails and desires of my sinful heart?! Why would I want a god who would leave me alone, because, like many of us, he’s sensitive in the seeking of this depraved soul?! Why would I want a god who, for the sake of being accepted into churches and homes, leaves the decisions of eternity to the dead spirit of man? Why would I want a god without purpose nor power? A god who is oblivious of the events of his own universe? A god who seemingly has no idea of the sufferings of men, of persecution and death? Why would I want a god, for the sake of love for his “free” creation, would never as to invade on the will of men, even if the cost is man’s eternal damnation?! No! That is the very essence of the heretical idolatry that is so pervasive in this day and age! If ever that was the god of Scripture then I say truthfully to you that all souls will be damned! Such a god is no god at all, it is the very embodiment of Satan the devil!
Oh, in such a realization, how sad it is to see that such embodiment, the devil disguised as an angel of light, is being preached week after week! Such a god that multitudes has put their faith, and the fates of their souls upon!
But, men and brethren, dear reader, open your eyes and see! Let God be true and every man a liar! (Rom 3:4)
Such a god is not the God of Scripture! The God of Scripture saves, because He is mighty to save! He is Love, not that He needs it, but because He is abounding of it! He preordains each moment in time and history according to the richness of His wisdom and Grace for the purpose that is the well deserved Glorification of Himself, the God of all eternity!
This is the God of the Ages, the Creator of the Heavens and the Earth. No matter how God hating and infinitely sinful man is, through the foolishness of this message, it pleased God to save those who believe; not by the virtue of the choice of men, nor of the uniqueness of the creature, but by virtue of the endless abounding Grace expressed in the death, burial and resurrection, the shedding of the Blood of the Lamb, the Good News, the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ, that he might make known the riches of his glory on the vessels of mercy, which he had afore prepared unto glory!(Rom 9:23)
That my friend is the Sovereign God of the never changing scripture. He, the Sovereign One is the same yesterday, today and forever. And indeed, though in death and peril, the purposes of God will be fulfilled for His Glory and our good, Amen.
Know ye that the LORD he is God: it is he that hath made us, and not we ourselves; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture.(Psalm 100:3)

What an exhortation of God's sovereign grace!5 stars and one I-am-speechless award to you bes!
"5 stars and one I-am-speechless award to you bes!" <–A-what?!Haha. I must confess of the struggle I really went to, to get this written. Even after writing it I felt deadness and absence of God's Spirit and fire. . .But yes, God works in mysterious ways, His wonders to perform. After reading it again, God breathed life to each word and sentence!Glory to God for using my idle mind in writing of His Sovereignty!
